With no developments in the surrounding area at the time, the Stephens family recognized an opportunity to create something extraordinary.
Drawing heavily from Mediterranean and Caribbean architectural influences, the design team, including renowned planners Andrés Duany and Galina Tachieva of DPZ, developed a vision for a community that would reflect timeless elegance. The result is a town characterized by its iconic white stucco buildings, striking rooftop terraces, and beautifully landscaped courtyards. The design evokes a sense of luxury and tranquility, with narrow, winding streets that lead to intimate public spaces and parks, all framed by lush, tropical landscaping.
Alys Beach officially began to take shape in 2004, quickly evolving into a refined coastal retreat known for its beautifully crafted homes and high-end amenities.
